Kikuletwa Hot Springs Retreat

The Kikuletwa Hot Springs — also known as Chemka Hot Springs — are one of northern Tanzania’s hidden treasures. Crystal-clear, naturally heated water wells up from underground volcanic springs into a series of turquoise pools shaded by ancient fig and palm trees, creating a natural oasis in the semi-arid steppe between Arusha and Moshi. This luxury day retreat takes you from the city to the springs for a day of swimming, relaxation, and a gourmet lunch served poolside under the canopy. Rope swings hang from the overhanging fig trees, and the warm mineral-rich water is perfect for soaking away the dust of the savannah. It is the ideal complement to a few days of safari — a chance to unwind in one of East Africa’s most beautiful natural settings.

Depart Arusha at approximately 8:30 AM for the roughly two-hour drive to Kikuletwa. On arrival, settle into a shaded spot beside the springs. The day is unstructured — swim in the warm turquoise pools, swing from rope swings over the water, or simply relax with a book in the dappled shade. A gourmet picnic lunch with chilled beverages is served under the fig trees. Return to Arusha by approximately 5:00 PM.
