Zanzibar Beach & Culture

Arrive at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport and transfer to your hotel in the heart of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. In the afternoon, embark on a guided walking tour through the labyrinthine alleys of Stone Town — visiting the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, the Sultan's Palace, and the atmospheric spice bazaars. End the evening at Forodhani Night Market, sampling Zanzibar's famous street food.

Morning visit to a spice plantation to experience Zanzibar's famous 'Spice Island' heritage — smell, taste, and learn about cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg growing in their natural state. After lunch, drive to Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park to see the endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkey, found nowhere else on earth, swinging through the mangrove and coral rag forest.

Transfer to the stunning north coast of Zanzibar — either Nungwi or Kendwa beach, renowned for their turquoise waters and powder-white sand. Settle into your beach resort and spend the day swimming and snorkeling on the house reef. The north coast has some of the island's best reefs, with colourful coral formations, sea turtles, and schools of tropical fish just metres from shore.

A full day to relax on the beach, swim in the warm Indian Ocean, or try optional activities like paddle-boarding, scuba diving, or deep-sea fishing. In the late afternoon, board a traditional wooden dhow for a sunset sailing cruise along the coast. Watch the sun dip below the horizon in a blaze of orange and pink while sipping fresh tropical juice and enjoying Swahili snacks on deck.

Enjoy a final breakfast by the ocean and a last swim before checking out. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Depending on your schedule, there may be time for a quick stop at a local village or a final browse through Stone Town's curio shops for hand-carved Zanzibar chests, Tingatinga paintings, or aromatic spice packs to take home.
