Tambarare Camp, opened in June 2022 as Sanctuary Tambarare, is a small luxury camp on Ol Pejeta Conservancy run by Abercrombie & Kent, which renamed its Sanctuary Retreats properties A&K Sanctuary in 2025. It stands among fever trees below Mount Kenya, and its boma looks over a busy waterhole. There are 10 tented suites of 68 m² and a two-bedroom private villa with its own vehicle, chef and housekeeper, for no more than 24 guests. Suites have super-king beds that convert to twins, walk-in showers, double basins and Leica binoculars, and the camp runs entirely on solar power. Days bring twice-daily game drives, night drives and guided bush walks, a visit to Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos, time with the conservancy's K9 anti-poaching unit and lion monitoring with a ranger. Meals, drinks and the game activities, including the northern white rhino visit, are included. A&K calls Tambarare its family safari camp: children of all ages are welcome, and under-15s share with an adult. The flight from Nairobi Wilson to Kamok airstrip takes about 30 minutes, then it is a 15-minute drive to camp.
