Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp

Mbuzi Mawe Serena Camp is a luxury safari lodge cleverly built into a cluster of massive granite rock formations in the central region of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. This intimate property consists of just 16 large, custom-built canvas pavilions that are strategically spaced out around the natural landscape to offer maximum privacy. Unlike traditional camping, these tents are permanent structures erected on solid stone platforms, boasting polished wooden floors, 24-hour electricity, two queen-sized canopy beds, and a fully equipped en-suite bathroom with flushing toilets and hot running water. The central guest area features a grand thatched dining room, a lounge, a bar, and a traditional outdoor campfire boma where travelers gather under the stars to share stories of their daily adventures. The camp is highly regarded by safari enthusiasts primarily due to its exceptional positioning for wildlife viewing throughout the year. Nestled in a wildlife-dense pocket of the Serengeti, guests can regularly spot resident predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs using the surrounding rocky kopjes as strategic vantage points. Most notably, its geographic location places it directly along the primary migration corridor, granting visitors a front-row seat to the dramatic millions-strong herds of wildebeest and zebras during the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. This prime territory makes it both a comfortable retreat and a spectacular staging ground for exploring the depths of the African savannah.
