Sanctuary Kusini

Sanctuary Kusini is a luxury tented camp set among the granite kopjes of the remote southern Serengeti. Kusini means 'south' in Swahili, and the camp's position puts guests close to the Great Migration during the calving season, roughly December to March, when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest gather on the short-grass plains to give birth and predators follow close behind. The rocky outcrops around the camp are also home to resident lion, leopard and cheetah, and the landscape of kopjes and open plains is among the most photogenic in the Serengeti. Tents have en-suite bathrooms and private verandas facing the plains, and meals are served in the main lounge and dining area or out in the bush. Because this corner of the park is so remote, game drives are peaceful and sightings are often exclusive. Sanctuary Kusini is an excellent choice for a calving-season safari and combines well with the Ndutu area and the Ngorongoro Crater.
