Keekorok Lodge is the oldest and most established lodge in the Masai Mara, founded in 1962 when the reserve was first created. Set on 100 acres of private grounds in the southern Mara, the lodge offers 103 rooms surrounded by landscaped gardens and a hippo pool, with excellent year-round game viewing. The property features a famous elevated boardwalk and observation area overlooking the hippo pool where guests can watch hippos, crocodiles, and visiting wildlife at close range. Keekorok's location on the Mara's southern plains places it in the prime pathway of the Great Migration and near key lion, leopard, and cheetah territories.
