This 15-day photographic safari is timed for the Great Migration's river season. It departs in early October, inside the window when the herds are usually in the Northern Serengeti and crossing the Mara River. After a night in Arusha you fly straight north, then work south by road through the Seronera Valley, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. It suits photographers and patient wildlife watchers who'd rather give each place three days than rush a checklist.
Four nights at Savannah Mara River Tented Camp keep you close to the crossing points. Days three to five are spent parked on the riverbanks, waiting for the wildebeest to commit, with lions and hyenas often close by. Nobody can schedule a crossing, which is exactly why you get three full days there. Enkirari Wilderness Camp comes next, for three days of big cat tracking around the Seronera kopjes, with an optional dawn balloon flight.
From the EWA Private Mobile Camp you get two mornings on the crater floor, where black rhino is possible, then three days of elephant herds and golden-hour light at Kati Kati Tarangire Camp. You start at The Scenery Residence and finish with a day room at Kia Lodge, close to the airport, before your evening flight. Ask our Arusha team if you'd like the pacing or the camps adjusted.
