Dunia Camp

Dunia Camp is an intimate tented camp run by Asilia Africa in the heart of the central Serengeti, and it is known as the first safari camp in Tanzania to be run almost entirely by women — from the camp managers to the guides. Set among rocky outcrops and acacia woodland, the camp is well placed for the year-round wildlife of the central Serengeti, one of the best areas in Africa for lion, leopard and cheetah, and it is within reach of the Great Migration as the herds pass through, usually around April to June and again in November. Its small number of tents keeps the atmosphere personal: each tent has an en-suite bathroom, comfortable beds and a veranda looking out onto the bush, and meals are shared around the campfire or under the stars. Dunia offers the classic Serengeti experience of big cats and wide plains with the warmth of a small, community-minded camp, and it is a strong choice for travellers who want an authentic tented safari with a meaningful story behind it.
