Day-by-Day Itinerary

Your Safari Unfolds

Your 9-day adventure across Africa's most spectacular wilderness areas

1
Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Arusha City

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania. After settling in, attend a welcome briefing with your guide who will outline the coming days of migration tracking. In the afternoon, visit a local coffee plantation on the slopes of Mount Meru for a guided tasting experience.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

Drive to Tarangire National Park and plunge straight into an afternoon game drive. The park's signature baobab trees tower over herds of elephants that gather along the Tarangire River, especially during the dry season. With over 550 bird species recorded, Tarangire is also one of East Africa's premier birding destinations.

Day 3

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Leave Tarangire and head north-west towards the Ngorongoro highlands. Along the way, stop at a traditional Maasai cultural village for an authentic encounter with one of East Africa's most iconic pastoral communities. Continue through the Rift Valley escarpment to your lodge on the crater rim.

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater Descent

Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing in this natural amphitheatre. The crater floor teems with wildlife — lion prides patrol the grasslands, black rhinos graze in the open, and flamingos paint the shores of Lake Magadi pink. With around 25,000 large animals resident year-round, sightings are virtually guaranteed.

Day 5

Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti

Central Serengeti

Traverse the Ngorongoro highlands and descend into the Serengeti's endless plains. The transition from highland forest to open savannah is dramatic, and game viewing begins the moment you enter the park. Arrive at your camp in the central Seronera area, positioned at the heart of the ecosystem where resident wildlife thrives year-round.

Day 6

Full Day in Central Serengeti

Central Serengeti

Dedicate the entire day to exploring the Seronera Valley and surrounding areas, where the convergence of rivers and kopjes creates prime predator habitat. Lions are frequently spotted resting on the granite kopjes, while leopards lurk in the riverine vegetation. The area's permanent water sources attract game year-round, making it the Serengeti's most reliable wildlife viewing zone.

Day 7

Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

Northern Serengeti

Drive north through the Serengeti's western corridor and into the remote northern sector near Kogatende. This is migration territory — depending on the season (typically July to October), vast columns of wildebeest and zebra gather here as they approach the Mara River. The journey itself is a game drive, with wildlife encounters throughout.

Day 8

Northern Serengeti — Mara River Crossings

Northern Serengeti

Position yourself near the Mara River for one of nature's greatest spectacles. Thousands of wildebeest gather on the banks, building courage before plunging into the crocodile-infested waters in a chaotic, heart-stopping crossing. Even when crossings are not active, the northern Serengeti offers exceptional game viewing with large predator populations drawn by the migration herds.

Day 9

Serengeti to Arusha — Departure
